The woman have to wear a veil becaouse it is a religous symbol. Some one took a picture of Marjane's mother protesting and she had to die her hair so that no one could recognize her. She was demonstration against the veil that they where being forced to wear. Marjane wants to become a prophet because she talks to God and he told her that she is a prophet. Merjane learns that her grandfathers dad was a king. That king assigned his son to be the Prime Minister. Marjane's grandpa who, who became the Prime Minester, turned into a communist and was sent to prison.
